SNL Scraps: Aziz Anisari, Set Changes, And 'Star Wars' Puns

SNL is back from winter break, bringing a bevy of Star Wars puns with it. I'm guessing that future promos will feature more references, as well as a sketch or two in the actual episode. We already know that the writers are massive nerds, and there's a lot of material to mine for comedy. The first promo for the highly-anticipated episode features a stellar mashup between the typical Star Wars font and the regular Saturday Night Live logo, as well as a dumb pun showing the crew as...storm troopers? Calling it now, Lorne Michaels will end the episode by killing everyone.

Meanwhile, back in the past, a video showing the specific set changes between the cold opening and the monologue popped up on the official YouTube channel. If you enjoy learning more about the construction of the background sets and general behind-the-scenes details of the show as much as I do, then I definitely recommend it. The video shows the set change from the most recent episode.

Finally, comedy superstar Aziz Anisari has been confirmed to host the show on January 21st. I'm excited to see what happens. Almost everything that he does is funny, especially on the former NBC comedy Parks And Recreation. Who knows, maybe it'll be referenced. If you need me, I'll be writing fan sketches.

Saturday Night Live airs live on NBC, Saturday at 11:30 pm.

Zachary Krishef is an evil genius. Do not question his knowledge of Saturday Night Live trivia or Harry Potter books.
