SNL Scraps: "Oregon Trail" Review And Promos

Firstly, we have a new series of promos for Saturday's penultimate episode of the season. They feature Drake and Leslie Jones. Unfortunately, I don't think they are very funny. The majority of the jokes just involve Leslie sexually harassing Drake, such as when she forces him to sit on her lap as he delivers the lines. I hope this doesn't carry over into the main episode. What do you think? Am I reading too much into it or is it creepy?

Secondly, a deleted sketch has been released from the newest episode of Saturday Night Live, featuring Alison Brie, Kate McKinnon, Taran Killam, and Kenan Thompson. During a funeral for  Josiah, a fallen traveler on the Oregon Trail, his wife and daughter deliver a heartfelt eulogy to his memory. Said ‘eulogy’ consists of oddly sexual pop songs. As cut sketches go, I’ve seen worse, but I’ve also seen better. It just feels okay. The premise relies on a mixture of mild shock humor and anachronistic jokes, both of which can be done very well. Kenan Thompson makes the sketch slightly more tolerable, but his part is all too brief. To sum up, I wouldn’t watch it again by myself, but I might share it with a group of people who I know will like it. What do you think? Sound off in the comments below!

Zachary Krishef is an evil genius. Do not question his knowledge of Saturday Night Live trivia or the Harry Potter books.
