Critical Hits & Misses #213

• Bill Maher got himself into some trouble over the weekend on his show, when he called himself a "house n****r" in response to a Republican Senator's invitation to "work in the fields" of Nebraska. But this article on Forbes isn't centered around Maher specifically, but rather is a discussion of white liberalism, the hidden racism inherent in it, and the white-washing of apologies after Maher's "slip" of the tongue. It's a fascinating discussion on issues we don't talk about much among liberals and progressives. 


• I'm not cryin', you're cryin'! Wonder Woman, a superhero film starring a woman and more importantly directed by a woman, roared onto the big screen this past weekend, and proceeded to kick major ass. The Hollywood Reporter has the numbers.
