• The Chicago Tribune has a great story on why comics are becoming increasingly female. They speak to lady creators working in the industry, and discuss how the superhero films and the still male-heavy comics industry has a disconnect with a growing female audience. 


• And in keeping with the comics theme today, the blog Social Work Helper has a post about how comics change the world, and the history of activism in comics. 


• Switching tracks, and in light of the news we posted yesterday about the release of this series' first soundtrack, we have this wonderful blog post from the Cartoon Amino that discusses the wonderful and powerful use of music in Steven Universe.

• We don't talk nearly enough about women and POC artists on this blog, and that's a failing we hope to remedy this year. Here's a wonderful discussion of Canadian artist Feist, and her latest album, "Pleasure." 


• The Feminism in India blog has a pretty unforgiving piece on the hypocrisy of progressive men, within the context of the allegations of sexual and mental abuse by Kumar Sundaram of India Resists. Lots of discussion about victim-blaming, giving men a pass, and how the public is quick to give men the benefit of the doubt.
