About

Critical Writ is a collaborative blog, a way for a community of genre fiction aficionados to share their thoughts on issues of race, gender, orientation, minority rights, and environmentalism, particularly when it comes to their representation in literature, comics, games, television, and film.

Critical Writ is dedicated to fostering socially-progressive discourse on popular culture in a safe and respectful online setting.

Critical Writ contributors are free to pursue their interests; they do not receive an editorial mandate to praise or to condemn the object of their critique. This blog is a labor of love for all involved. We do not accept money from the Democratic convention, the Illuminati, or Snake People. It’s not that we would turn down money, it’s just that it’s never been offered. Contrary to popular belief, opinions are surprisingly difficult to monetize.
